Join Orpheus Project and the Pioneers of Alaska on Saturday September 30 from 4:00-7:00pm for cruise to Vanderbilt Reef in Lynn Canal, the resting place of the S.S. Princess Sophia wreckage!

Board an Allen Marine catamaran at Statter Harbor (Auke Bay) and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar, and hear from a variety of speakers from Orpheus Project and Pioneers of Alaska about the history of the Princess Sophia and also about the forthcoming opera. We will be showing fascinating dive footage and photography from the wreckage by Annette Smith and also a preview of new original artwork by Dan Fruits. Dave Hunsaker, librettist of the Sophia opera, will be on hand to share information on the creative process of creating a new operatic work based on a historical event.
