Thanks to all who attended the recent Amalga Chamber Orchestra concerts! What a thrill it was for us to share music by Juneau’s own Artemio Sandoval and some “space music” by Alan Hovhaness. Of course, we were especially excited to provide the first glimpse into the upcoming Princess Sophia opera by Emerson Eads, who was able to join us for the concerts. There were more than a few weepy eyes in the audience!

Princess Sophia Opera performers: Left to Right: Dave Hunsaker (librettist), Emerson Eads (composer), Jay Query, Mark Calvert, Wendy Byrnes, Zebadiah Bodine, Kathleen Wayne, William Todd Hunt (conductor), Tess Altiveros, Wade Rodgers

If you are excited about what Orpheus Project is doing and would like to be a part of it, including the Princess Sophia Opera project, consider joining our board of directors! Typically, we have brief lunchtime meetings once or twice each month. We value innovation and collaboration across the Juneau community and leaving the drama on stage where it belongs! If this sounds interesting to you, please send us a message with some information about yourself and why you think you’d be a great Orpheus Project board member to [email protected].
