The Wolf Who Came to Juneau

The Wolf Who Came to Juneau

an area-wide celebration of Romeo the wolf

Romeo was first seen in the winter of 2003 and spent the next 6 winters with the dogs and people of Juneau, igniting our imaginations and filling our hearts with a connection to nature that is so rare.

Orpheus Project is heading up this project that we hope will bring the arts community together in a thematically unified season.

Our main submission to this will be a concert of new works by Emerson Eads and Dave Hunsaker (of the Princess Sophia opera), and Orpheus Artistic Director William Todd Hunt with Nick Jans, author of the widely acclaimed book, A Wolf Called Romeo. The concert will feature the Amalga Chamber Orchestra, Vox Borealis, and the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. Look for that in early March 2022.

There will also be exhibitions of visual arts, plus other concerts, lectures, and storytelling. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
