Princess Sophia Opera Commission Fund Drive!
All donations June through end of of August 2018 will directly help fund the Princess Sophia opera.
Next season we present our most ambitious project to date – an opera based on the local tragedy of the sinking of the Princess Sophia on October 25, 1918. The costs associated with the commissioning and production of this piece is far more expensive than any other production of ours to date. Orpheus Project has tremendous reliance on the donations of individuals and businesses that care about the arts, culture, and history of Juneau.
Orpheus Project is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Our non-profit name is Andiamo, EIN 92-0166540
Orpheus Project’s continued growth and success rely in great part on the patronage and generous support of individual, foundation, and corporate donors, to whom we are deeply grateful. We hope you will consider joining or rejoining our family of donors. Your support nourishes Orpheus Project’s artistic growth and ensures that we will be able to bring great programming for years to come.

Orpheus Project has a long history of fostering growth of the vocal arts for Juneau’s acting singers. Our programming choices, which often emphasize solo voices above choral works, provide a much-needed outlet for singers and audiences to broaden their experience of vocal music. We cast locally whenever possible, and when bringing in singers from outside, we facilitate their availability for lessons and open master classes for the local singing community, helping to foster the professionalism of our talented amateurs. All of these community-centered endeavors are serving our primary aim, which is to bring the freshest perspective to a traditional, yet vibrant and constantly evolving art form. We strive to stay true to the spirit of the piece, to achieve a high standard of professionalism, and to bring an innovative, relevant approach to each production.
The annual Pick.Click.Give. campaign reached an important milestone this week. Alaska residents have pledged over $1 million dollars to nonprofits throughout the state. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to add your pledge to that $1 million and make a difference in your arts community.
